My Full Review of the AQUA REVEAL Satin Bright Soft Water Peel for Face

I do have other unboxing’s to do for June (I’m behind) so you might not see them this month since July is about to start (I might do two at once for July) but I wanted to review the AQUA REVEAL Satin Bright Soft Water Peel for Face. I received a sample of this product in a recent Birchbox. I’m very hesitant to use anything on my face that I haven’t researched like a stalker. For those that do not know I have a very sensitive angry face that is prone to rosacea.

I tested the AQUA REVEAL sample on my hand and when I began to rub the product (via the directions but it said face I used my hand…close enough) I immediately felt dry dead skin balling up. “Huh” I said to myself “…would you look at that”.

Here is a little about the product from their website http://www.aquareveal.com/soft-water-peel-for-face/

This amazing lightweight water-based gel utilizes SMART EXFOLIATION™ technology to provide adjustable exfoliation from light to deep while not drying out skin. Specially formulated with Hyaluronic Acid and nourishing botanicals to maintain skin's natural moisture levels while effectively and visibly sweeping away dead skin cells.

Removes impurities and decongests clogged pores without causing irritation or redness in even the most sensitive skin. Immediately following use, skin feels smoother and softer and looks brighter and healthier.

WHY IT'S UNIQUE:

- Contains Hyaluronic acid

- Patent-pending brightening formula

- Ideal for all ages and all skin types

- Complements any existing skincare regimen

- Improves absorption of other products following use

- Contains a patented brightening ingredient

- Dermatologist and Allergy Tested

- Over 95% natural ingredients

- Cruelty-free

- No Parabens

- No Sulfates

- No Synthetic Fragrances

- No Synthetic Dyes

- No Phthalates

- No Triclosan

I decided that I would try it. The worst that could happen is I look like an angry red sunburned trucker. Small price to pay! I bought the full size of this product ($49.00) and have been using it three times a week for the past month.

I have had absolutely no irritation from the AQUA REVEAL. That statement along is huge. The skin on my face is a fickle angry thing - If I touch it wrong it can get red and angry. To put an exfoliating product on my face that requires me to rub the skin is something I have been avoiding for years. I’ve actually being using the Kiehl’s Overnight Bio Peel but I felt that while it did work it was not enough.

After a month of use my skin is very soft (like baby bottom soft) and people have commented on how smooth my skin looks. There is also something very satisfying when you rub something on your face and you can see the dead skin just balling up. Is it just me? Maybe it’s just me (side eye).

I love this product and I am going to say that this is my Holy Grail exfoliator. They also have a body wash that I’m going to try because…I have keratosis pilaris (aka chicken skin – cause I have to have all the skin problems) and I want to see if that exfoliating body product works as well on my KP.

I say 100% buy this and try it out. Everyone is different so please patch test your skin (if you don’t and your skin sloughs off please don’t sue me – I’m broke). However, if it works as well for you as it does for me you are going to be very satisfied.

Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence 14 day Update

Hi everyone. This is my last Benton Snail Bee High Content Essence update. It is a little late but I blame the holidays. I used the Benton Snail Bee Essence daily morning and evening along with my Clinique Gentle Face Wash, and my Kiehl’s Skin Rescuer. I have since added more steps to my skincare routine but at the time I took these photos (the 14 day mark) I had not added any other products. Here are the before and after photos (Note: I have two before and after photos of the left side of my face because I couldn’t fit them all into one collage – laughing).

If I had to describe the effects on my face in one word I would have to say amazing. The pustules (that’s a horrible word) are gone, the redness and hyperpigmentation has decreased and I have not experienced any new rosacea symptoms. I am actually shocked that in only 14 days my skin looks so much better. Skin cells totally regenerate (i.e., new skin all over the face) in 28 days and I can only imagine that my skin will continue to improve (I do have a few areas of hyperpigmentation still). I 100% recommend this to anyone looking for something that is not only safe to use with sensitive skin but gives you results.

I am blown away and I have to say that this is going onto my (very small) list of Holy Grail skincare products. There is one problem with this product – it’s from Korea. Since this is a Korean product and can be a little tricky to find, I’m going to link you to a few websites I trust. You can always try Amazon or EBay but there are a ton of counterfeit Korean beauty products and unethical sellers on both sites. These are tried and true and you’re going to be getting the product you order.

The first is Memebox which is where I personally purchased the product. Here is a direct link to the Essence.

TesterKorea is another website that I have ordered from. It can be a little scary because the prices are in won but the conversion is listed at the top right (usually around 1 American dollar to 1000 won).

Beauteque is another good option. They ship from the US but the product is a few dollars more.

Benton has an entire line of products associated with their Snail Bee High Content line. If you would like a chance to win the Benton High Content Steam Cream check out my giveaway Korean Beauty Blog Hop Giveway (which is also part of a large Korean beauty giveaway). Have a happy New Year everyone! Here’s to a great 2015!

Serenity + Scott Brow Gel Review - Is it a Holy Grail?

Two weekends ago I was able to attend The Makeup Show in Orlando Florida. There will be a haul blog soon but I have been sick. Did I say sick? What I mean is that I had that thing from the Mucinex commercials living in my nose and chest. I was going as Press to The Makeup Show but I was so Ill I couldn’t do it. So, I just went and bought some things (smile). I met a lot of great people at the show but by far the two people that I met that I have to mention are Serenity + Scott. If you don’t know who they are go here RIGHT NOW to their YouTube channel. I’ll wait (waiting patiently).

Serenity + Scott is a new(er) makeup line based out of Ashville North Carolina. I was very excited to take look at this line because I had seen a few reviews of their products online. All of Serenity + Scotts products are cruelty free, paraben free, and gluten free. Their brushes are high quality (I’ve added them to my kit) and their eye shadow pallets are highly pigmented. My friend purchased their powder and a pallet while I got their brow gel. Let me say that the brow gel was what I really wanted to try and I was not disappointed.

Serenity + Scott’s brow gel comes in four shades (although I do see a photo of five shades on their website) Golden Blonde, Silver Fawn, Copper Auburn, and Bronzed Sable. I am going to use the brown gel in the color Silver Fawn.

On a personal note - I got to meet Serenity and Scott at The Makeup Show. It is obvious that they have put a lot of time, thought, and care into their products. They are also the most sincere and nice people who I’ve met in a very long time.

A bit about me and my eyebrows - My eyebrows are natural. I don’t pluck or shape them in anyway. I love makeup but never really wanted to mess with my brows because I actually like them. However, with my chemo and hair loss they’re a bit blah, and I wanted to do something with them. I’m also not into the drawn on look that some people enjoy. I want them to look natural and just there. I began looking for a brow product and came across a few reviews on Serenity + Scott’s brow gel. To me, the product looked the most natural. The brow gel has reflective properties that help to make your brows look three-dimensional, exactly what I wanted!

I’m only going to be doing the left brow in this review. Also, it should be noted that I’m going to be putting the product on thick so you can see how it still looks natural even if you apply a lot. I’m also going to be extending my brow so you can see how it performs on skin (no hair people, no hair - gotta love chemo).

These are ma kinda patchy up close eyebrows. Ya know? I’ve never looked at my face this closely before. It’s rather scary. So I hope people are actually getting something out of this – laugh. Also, please excuse my crazy ass eyes. I don't know what the hell I was doing but maybe you'll get a laugh out of it.

Here is after.

You can obviously see the difference. I’ve also extended my brown in the second photo and as you can see it looks very natural. I didn’t go further down because I would look like the dad from American Pie due to how thick I put the product on, but I wanted you to see that even with this heavy handed application it just looks like my natural eyebrow.

The product also dries soft, not stiff like some brow gels can be (one of my other complaints as I was trying out brow gels). I am in love with this product. I have used this brow gel daily since I purchased it and recommend it to everyone. This is 100% my holy grail brown gel. Here is a link to their website, go nuts.

And no, I don’t get anything for this, the above link does not come back to me in anyway. I bought this product with my own money and I’ll buy it with my own money a thousand more times - smile.
