Memebox Blackfriday Box #5 Unboxing and Review

Well it’s time for another Memebox unboxing! I really do enjoy doing these unboxings but I think I might switch it up a bit (I’ll explain more at the end of this blog). This is my unboxing and review of the Memebox Black Friday #5 box. For those that don’t know Memebox is a K-beauty box service (like a subscription box) but the spin on this is that they curate boxes and then you choose which box you want to purchase. It’s really fun to be surprised by a box. The prices range from $20.00 - $50.00 depending on the box. They also ship from Korea so keep that in mind and the fact that shipping is $6.99 for standard and $18.99 for express. Now on to the box!

This is the Shara Shara Top Talented Skin BB Brightening & Wrinkle SPF 34 PA ++. I’m not a big fan of sunscreen combined with product. It’s just a personal preference and because of that I didn’t test any of this product in order to pass it along in the future – smile.

I received this Hologram Collection Moisture Serum and was again blown away by the packaging. I’m a sucker for good packaging. This product contains mineral water gel and twisted moist essence. Unfortunately it also contains alcohol so I’m also not trying this product so I can pass it along.

We all know (if you read my blog) that this is the Benton Snail Bee High Content Steam Cream. This is a natural product (no alcohol) which contains snail mucus extract and bee venom. You use this after washing your face. Just slather it on and then remove it with warm water. I love this stuff and if you want a chance to win one take a look at my giveaway here K-Beauty Blog Hop Giveaway.

I also received the dearberry Ice Cream Hand Cream in Vanilla. I don’t like vanilla hand creams so…again I’m not opening it.

Last but not least we have the dearberry Kiss of Berry #1 Raspberry. So…again I don’t like the flavor of fake Raspberry so I also haven’t tried to use this product.

Overall this box was a disappointment for me. The products are good but I really will not use any of them (besides the steam cream). Which leads me to what I was alluding too earlier. I think I might be doing more purchases of single Korean Beauty products in the future. The boxes are great but the price plus the shipping and wait time takes some of the fun out of it. I haven’t decided 100% but I know I do want more control of what I’m going to receive. The next few months will help me make my decision.

Migabee, The Morning After (dramatic music)

As promised - my Migabee Verbena morning after photos. Yes I slept in. Ya know what? I would still be asleep if my dogs had not sat on my face and attacked me. I was up late last night trying to get some details worked out about a giveaway I’m planning. Then I got distracted and started watching “The Murder Station” aka The ID Channel (whispering investigate). It’s like crack for the eyes. Sorry, got distracted there... On to the photos!

This is ma face after wearing the moisturizer for over 12 hours. As you can see I have no breakouts, my face is not red, and there is no irritation. My face is still hydrated and there are no dry or patchy spots this morning. This actually surprised me because, as I stated in last night’s blog, the moisturizer did not seem very thick. I really expected it to wear off overnight but to my delight it lasted.

Overall I’m happy with the Migabee Verbena facial moisturizer and I think I’m going to rotate this in with my Kiehl’s Skin Rescue. I’m not saying this is a holy grail skin care product, that remains to be seen, but I am saying I like it and it should be safe to try (everyone is different of course) if you have dry, sensitive, and rosacea prone skin.

Overload of cuteness of dogs sitting on me (excuse the hot mess that I am in this photo).

Feeling Very Asian

I'm feeling very "Asian" today. I bet you're thinking "Since you are Asian... don't you feel Asian every day?" or maybe something like "What does an Asian feel like?". Well my friends I will tell you. ..

While it's true I am Asian, I don't think about it every day. I'm not constantly thinking of Korean ways to do things, how Korean I am, or how Korean people are the best people in the world. Well... maybe that last one, but I digress.

I bought a pair of prescription sunglasses last week. They arrived yesterday. Love them woo hoo! I drive to work with them and realize they might not be polarized like I asked (It's ok it was taken care of).

Well, because of this I go on to the Oakley website just to look around. (HOLDING UP HAND) Yes I know expensive, but I work hard and have few things I buy for myself. If I want to spend the money on prescription sunglasses I will.. SHHHH Don't judge!

I'm looking around and I see this little link that says "Also available in Asian Fit"...... Hm.... WTF Is Asian fit?

So, since I 'am' Asian and it says "Asian" I click on it....

Huh... well look at that. Did you know that Asians have flatter noses thus making the fit of some glasses hard? Their heads are also shaped differently etc etc. (I won't go into Asian head anatomy) I did not realize this. Oakley, being the cool company they are, recognizes that Asians have different sun glass needs and modifies their sunglasses to accommodate for that.....

Now, let me share a little personal stuff here. I have always attributed the fact that my cheeks touch my glasses and that it's a little snug on the sides, to the fact that I have a fat head. Yes yes I was resigned to the fact that my fat head made it hard to get sunglasses BUT I DON'T HAVE A FAT HEAD! I have an ASIAN head!!

To make a longer story a little longer... The nice people at my eyeglass place took them back and are ordering me polarized Asian fit Oakleys WOOO HOO! Oakley will have my Business FOREVER.

This quote from Margaret Cho is all that much funnier now...

"But he was telling me that I really don't have a fat body and I know I don't have a fat body, I just have a really big head. And I don't know how I'm gonna lose weight in my head. What kind of crunches do I have to do?! "

...... and that is why I'm feeling very Asian today.
